Gardaí in Dublin are investigating following an alleged assault in Crumlin early this morning that left one man in a serious condition.
The incident happened at around 1.30am this morning on Captains Road.
Two men are said to have been involved in an altercation with a group of other men.
One of the two men, aged 31, was taken to St James's Hospital, where is condition is described as serious. The second man was not seriously injured.
Gardaí say it is understood that the group of men fled the scene on foot, in the direction of the Armagh Road / Windmill Road.
A man in his mid-20s was arrested by gardaí in connection with the investigation this afternoon. He is being held at Crumlin Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
