A man in his late 20s is still being held in connection with a post office raid in Dublin.

The alarm was raised shortly after 4pm yesterday when a man entered the Blackrock branch with what looked like a gun.

He threatened staff and fled with a sum of money but was arrested a short distance away.

Gardai recovered the money and a fake handgun and brought him to Blackrock Garda Station where he remains in custody.
