A man has admitted murdering his wife in Dublin almost three years ago. 

57-year-old Jean Eagers died after being attacked in her home at Willow Wood Grove in Hartstown on June 21st 2020.

Her husband, William, was later charged with her murder and he was also accused of producing a samurai sword during the course of a dispute.

The 62-year-old taxi driver was due to stand trial but pleaded guilty to her murder when he was arraigned earlier today.

His sentence hearing will take place later this month.
