A man has been jailed for two-and-a-half-years after he attacked an 86-year-old woman and put her in a wheelie bin. 

Alex Bailey of Claragh, Ramelton, County Donegal was drunk and on his way home after a night out in Dublin in September last year. 

His barrister told the judge as a result of his “induced psychosis” he falsely believed his victim was a “dangerous paedophile.”

Bailey arrived in court with €10,000 as a token of his remorse for his actions.
