Gardaí are investigating a fatal road crash in Co Louth overnight.

The single car crash happened on the Bog Road at Townspark in Ardee in the early hours of the morning.

The driver - who was in his twenties - was the only person in the car at the time. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gardaí say they were told about the crash at about 7 this morning - and are appealing for anyone who was in the area overnight to come forward.
