A man in his 50s has died, after the car he was driving collided with a bus.

It happened at about 8.30 this morning on the Ballybofey to Donegal Road at the Barnsmore Gap in Co. Donegal.

The man was the driver of the car - there was no-one else in the car at the time.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, but one injured person was taken to Letterkenny General hospital from the bus, with what are described as minor injuries.

This road is closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators - local diversions are in place.
