A man in his 50s has been killed in County Meath following a two car collision on the N3 at Kells.

He was taken to Navan Hospital but died a short time later.

Nobody else was injured in the incident, which happened at around 12.20pm this afternoon.

A Garda forensic team is carrying out an examination, and the road on the southbound carriageway is closed.
