A man in his early 30s has been hospitalised following an attack on Talbot Street yesterday evening. 

Gardaí said the assault occurred shortly before 7.30pm on Wednesday, August 16th. 

The man was taken to the Mater Hospital, where he is currently being treated for non-life threatening injuries. 

A technical examination of the scene on Talbot Street has taken place.

Investigations are ongoing.
