Elaine O'Hara was originally from Killiney in south Dublin and was reported missing by her father on August 24th 2012 - two days after she was seen leaving her home in Stepaside.

Her 05-D registered turquoise Fiat Punto car was located at Shanganagh Cemetery in Shankill.

However despite public appeals for information her whereabouts remained unknown for more than 12 months.

Skeletal remains discovered by a woman out walking her dog at Kilakee Mountain near Rathfarnham on September 13th were identified as those of the 36-year-old.

Following forensic tests and a post mortem examination the case was subsequently upgraded from a missing person investigation - to a murder inquiry.

Cathal McMahon is Crime Correspondent with the Irish Daily Mirror.

This morning gardai arrested a 41-year-old married businessman. The father-of-two was detained during a dawn raid on his home. He is being held at Blackrock Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
