A post-mortem examination is due to take place at Cork University Hospital later.

It is understood that Mr Foley lived on the property for several years and was originally from Clonakilty.

His body was found at a house in Macroom at approximately 1pm yesterday afternoon.

The scene was preserved for a forensic and technical examination.

It is the second tragedy in the family in recent years after Michael's brother, Timmy Foley, was murdered in the town in 2018.

Anyone with any information that can assist Gardaí with this investigation is asked to contact Macroom Garda station.
