A 28-year-old man has been charged in relation to a major drug seizure in Tralee.

A second man who was also arrested at the unit is still receiving treatment in Kerry General Hospital after he injured himself while attempting to flee gardai.

Garda Eoin O'Donovan told the court the accused man was found during a planned raid at KHP Industrial Complex at Clash Industrial Estate in Tralee at 9:46am on Monday morning.

He was arrested at the scene and has been charged with possession of cannabis, possession of cannabis with intent to sell or supply and cultivation of cannabis.

Garda Superintendent Jim O'Connor asked the judge to refuse a bail application for Mr. Nguyen, who is believed to be a considerable flight risk.

Judge James O'Connor agreed and remanded the man, who describes himself as a fisherman by profession, to appear before Tralee District Court next Wednesday October 30th.
