A man in his 40s is due in court tomorrow in Dublin in connection with an armed raid on a pharmacy in Dublin.

The robbery happened yesterday on Eden Quay in the city shortly before 11am.

A lone raider threatened staff with a hammer and made off with a sum of money.

An off-duty garda chased the suspect, who was arrested with the assistance of gardaí from Store Street. The money was also recovered.

The detained man will appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin tomorrow morning.
