A man has appeared in Drogheda District Court charged in relation to an alleged assault on a man in Louth last weekend.
Charles Hutchinson (31) of Barton Park in Dundalk is accused of assault causing harm to Laurence-Michael McGeown (60) at Fagans pub on Castletown Road in Dundalk last Friday night.
Mr. McGeown had been on a life support machine at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.

He died yesterday after he was injured in the incident in which he suffered serious head injuries.
Mr. Hutchinson was remanded in custody with consent to bail.
