A man in his 40s has died following a single-vehicle jeep crash in Kildare yesterday evening. 

Gardaí said the crash happened on the R448 at Halverstown, Kilcullen, at roughly 6.15pm yesterday evening. 

The driver of the jeep, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.  

His body has been taken to Naas General Hospital where a postmortem will take place. 

The R448 at Halverstown is currently closed for a forensic examination. Local diversions are in place. 

Gardaí in Naas are appealing to anyone with information about the crash to contact them. 

They are particularly interested in talking to road users who were in the area at the time and may have camera footage.
