A man in his 60s has died in a house fire in Co. Galway.

The blaze broke out at the house at Liss, Headford around 1 O'clock this morning.

A second man, who was in the house at the time, escaped without serious injuries.

The scene is preserved pending a technical examination by gardaí.

A post mortem will be carried out on the body of the dead man at University Hospital Galway this afternoon.
