A man has died in a car crash in County Donegal.

Gardaí said the man in his 40s died in a single-vehicle collision that happened Carrowreagh, Bridge End between 8:30am and 9am yesterday morning.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to the mortuary at Letterkenny University Hospital.

The road at Carrowreagh was closed while Gardaí carried out a forensic investigation; however, it has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and are particularly interested in talking to anyone who was in the area between 8am and 9:30am and may have camera footage.
