A man in his late-40s has died in a fire in County Mayo.

Gardaí say the blaze broke out at an apartment on Castle Street in Castlebar at around 2am last night.

The scene is currently being examined by forensic investigators.

Gardaí have said the tragic incident is not being treated as suspicious.
