Three other people were taken to hospital for assessment and treatment; their injures are not life-threatening.

The N69 Listowel to Tralee road has since reopened to traffic after an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

The local Coroner has also been notified.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Road users on the N69 between Tralee and Listowel yesterday from 8:30pm to 9:15pm with camera footage, including dash cam, are being asked to provide it to investigators.

The crash is the second death on Irish roads in less than 24 hours after another man in his 20s died in Cork this morning.
