A man aged in his 20s has died following a crash in south Dublin.

The motorbike he was driving was taken away by someone before gardai arrived on the scene in Tallaght.

This crash happened when a motorcyclist hit a lamp post at Homelawn Gardens at around 7:30pm.

He was rushed to Tallaght Hospital but later pronounced dead.

Gardai say the motorbike involved in the incident was removed from the scene before they arrived.

A search of the area is continuing and officers are appealing for information.
