A young man has died in a single vehicle crash in Co Meath this morning.

 

Gardaí in Ashbourne, are investigating the single vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the R150 Duleek - Julianstown road, County Meath, at approximately 2.20 this morning.

 

It's understood the vehicle struck a stone wall.

 

A 22 year old man-who was the sole occupant of the vehicle- was taken from the scene to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, where he was pronounced dead.

 

The R150 remains closed at the scene to allow gardai to carry out a forensic examination.

 

Diversions are in place.

 

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or to anyone who was on the R150 Duleek - Julianstown road between 2.00 and 2.45am, this morning to contact Ashbourne Garda Station.

 

It follows the death of two men - aged 19 and 22 - in a crash on the Rathmullan to Portsalon Road in Donegal in the early hours of Saturday morning.

 

Two other men were seriously injured in the accident.
