A man has died after a car crash just off Baggot Street in Dublin city centre.

Gardaí said one vehicle was involved in the crash on Lad Lane at around 10:45am this morning.

The driver was taken to St Vincent’s University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The road is currently closed as gardaí carry out a forensic examination.

Gardaí in Pearse Street are appealing for any witnesses to come forward. They are also calling on drivers who were in the area and may have dash-cam footage to contact them.
