A man in his 60s is in a critical condition in hospital after he was assaulted at a house in County Kildare last night.

Gardaí said the man was taken to Naas General Hospital after he was assaulted at a house in Newbridge at around 9pm last night.

No arrests have been made; however, Gardaí are following a definite line of inquiry.

A full technical examination is begin carried out at the house and the scene has been preserved.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with any information to come forward.

They are also calling on anyone who was in the Moore Park area of Newbridge yesterday evening between 8:30pm and 9:30pm – particularly drivers who may have dash-cam footage – to come forward.
