A man in his 30s has been charged in connection with the discovery three guns and ammunition in Drogheda earlier this week.

The guns were seized after Gardaí searched a premises in the centre of the town as part of Operation Stratus on Monday.

Operation Stratus was launched in response to the ongoing organised crime feud in the area.

During the search investigators found a holdall bag containing three handguns, assorted magazines and various types of ammunition.

A man in his late 30s was arrested and taken to Drogheda Garda Station.
This morning, Gardaí said a man n his 30s had been charged over the discovery.

He is due to appear before Drogheda District Court this morning.
