A man arrested in connection with the assault and attempted abduction of a woman near Phoenix Park on Monday is due in court tomorrow morning.

The woman, aged in her 60s, escaped after a man approached her and attempted to force her into the boot of a car in the Martin’s Grove/Blackhorse Avenue area on Monday morning.

She managed to flee the scene and the car drove away via Blackhorse Avenue towards Dublin city centre.

Yesterday, Gardai arrested a man in his 20s in connection with the investigation.

He was released this morning; however, investigators have this evening re-arrested him.

Gardaí said he is due to appear before Blanchardstown District Court tomorrow morning charged in connection with the incident.
