The worker told gardai he was forced to take a substantial sum of cash from the local branch the following day.

Detectives say he was instructed to drop it at a specific location while his partner and child were held somewhere else. They were released unharmed later that day.

As part of an ongoing investigation, Mr. Gill was arrested in the Dublin area this morning and brought before Drogheda District Court this afternoon.

He faces three charges alleging false imprisonment of three people in Drogheda between the 1st and 2nd of August 2011.

A fourth charge accuses him of robbing cash from a post office at West Street in Drogheda on August 2nd 2011. The 32-year-old was remanded in custody to appear in court again in Cloverhill next Tuesday.
