A man has been charged in connection with two burglaries and a robbery in Limerick city.

Gardaí said a man was walking on Davis Street on Monday when he was approached by another man who asked for some change before throwing him to the ground.

The man received cuts and bruises but did not need medical attention.

The suspect robbed a small amount of cash from him and ran away.

Gardaí gathered CCTV footage from the area and identified a man they believe to have been responsible.

The man was already in custody on suspicion of carrying out burglaries at houses on High Street and Tara Street in February and April.

He has now been charged in connection with all three incidents and is due before Limerick City District Court this morning.
