Gardaí investigating the death of a man in a west Dublin shooting in September 2017 have arrested a 22-year-old man.

Fitness instructor John Gibson died after he was shot a number of times at Fortunestown Lane in Tallaght on September 18th 2017.

The 28-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gardaí have been investigating whether the death was connected to a gangland feud in the west Dublin area.

This morning, Gardaí arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with their investigation.

He is being held at Tallaght Garda Station and the Garda investigation is continuing.
