A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the discovery of a man’s body at house in Dublin this afternoon.

The man in his 40s was found dead at a house on Auburn Street in Phibsborough earlier today.

This evening, Gardaí said another man in his 40s was arrested, "on suspicion of murder."

The man’s body remains at the scene and a forensic examination is currently underway.

The State Pathologist has been notified and a post-mortem is due to be carried out.

A Garda family liaison officer has been appointed and is in contact with the dead man’s family.

Gardai are appealing to anyone with any information on the death to come forward.

The investigation is continuing.
