A man has been arrested in the UK over a "racist" attack in which a pregnant woman was kicked in the torso, causing her to lose her baby.
The 34-year-old woman had allegedly earlier been racially abused by a man while she was in a store in Bletchley, Buckinghamshire.
She was followed to her car where the alleged offender attacked a second victim - a 40-year-old man, who was struck in the head with a bag of ice and a bottle - before kicking the woman, who fell to the ground.
Both victims were taken to Milton Keynes General Hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.
Medics were unable to save the woman's unborn child.
The male victim suffered injuries to his head as a result of the attack which took place at around 9.40pm on 6 August.
A 37-year-old man from Milton Keynes was arrested on Wednesday morning on suspicion of racially aggravated assault and is currently in custody.
Police have yet to comment on the ethnic background of the victims.
