A post mortem examination is due to be carried out today on the body of a woman found dead at a house in Co Mayo yesterday.
Gardaí arrested a man in his early 20s in connection with the incident last night.
At around midday yesterday the remains of a woman, believed to be in her late twenties and a mother of two, were found at a secluded bungalow located just outside the village of Balla off the N60 Claremorris to Castlebar road.
Deputy State Pathologist Dr Michael Curtis is due to carry out a post mortem at Mayo General hospital today to establish her exact cause of death.
Last night investigating officers arrested a man in his early 20s in the Castlebar area.
He's being questioned at Castlebar Garda Station,under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
The scene remains sealed off today as a full technical examination continues.
