A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal crash in County Down this morning.

An elderly pedestrian was struck by a lorry in Ballynahinch just before 11 o'clock.

The PSNI had appealed for a lorry driver believed to be connected to the incident to come forward.

Officers say they have now located the vehicle involved. A driver has been arrested on suspicion of a number of motoring offences and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

Anyone who witnessed the incident on Windmill Street is being asked to contact the PSNI.
