A man in his 60's has been arrested in England over a murder which took place in Derry in the summer of 2006.
Paul McCauley passed away last June after spending almost 10 years in a vegetative state as a result of the injuries he sustained from a physical beating at a barbecue.
It is believed that the murder took place in the early hours of July 16, 2006, when only three guests were still attending the barbecue. A number of people supposedly emerged from bushes and attacked Mr McCauley
The man arrested in England is being interviewed at a police station in Belfast.
The officer leading the investigation has said that 16 people have been detained in relation to this case so far, and one person has been charged with murder.
