A man has been charged in connection with the 1987 murder of Ann Nancy Smyth in Kilkenny.
A 52-year-old was arrested this evening in connection with the 79-year-old widow's death at her home on Wolfe Tone street in the town almost 30 years ago.
Ms Smith had been living alone at the time of her death.

The arrested man is due to appear at a special sitting of Kilkenny District court on Friday morning.
