A man in his 20's has been arrested at Gatwick Airport in relation to what British police describes as 'Syria-related terrorism offences.'
The man was arrested before boarding a flight by counter-terrorism officers, according to members of the West Midlands police force. A 20-year-old woman has also been arrested at an address in west London over similar offences, and is being detained along with the man (24) at a police station in the West Midlands.
A police statement said:
"There was no risk to any passengers at Gatwick Airport or to the wider public in relation to these arrests."
Searches are now being carried out at two addresses in Birmingham.
