A man has been arrested after a stabbing in Co. Louth last night. A man (24) was wounded during the incident outside a house on Mill Road in Dundalk at around 10pm.

He was rushed by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, and gardai say his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Another man aged in his 20s was arrested and taken to Dundalk garda station for questioning over the attack.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination.
