A man has been arrested over a stabbing which left a man and his son (17) injured in Co Kerry.

The attack happened at their house in Woodbrook Lawn in Tralee at around 6am yesterday morning.

The man and his son received minor stab wounds and were brought to Kerry General Hospital.

Gardaí arrested a man (23) in the town last night and are questioning him at Tralee garda station.

Meanwhile, five men are due in court in connection with a separate stabbing and assault in the town yesterday afternoon.

They were arrested after an incident at Rathass Cemetery at about 12:30pm.

The five will appear before Tralee District Court later this morning.
