Gardai in Kildare have seized drugs and arrested a man. 40 kilos of cannabis herb worth around €800,000 was found when a house at Crossmorris was searched yesterday.

The man (43) was arrested at the scene. He is being detained at Newbridge Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act.

This was part of on-going intelligence-led operations, targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the Kildare area.

Gardaí from the Garda National Drugs Unit were assisted by Local Detective Units.

They say advanced analytical and intelligence methods were used in these operations "to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks".
