A man has appeared in court charged in connection with the seizure of over half a million euro worth of cocaine in north Dublin.
Christopher Geraghty of Oldtown Avenue, Santry was arrested after gardaí raided his home yesterday afternoon.
A number of raids were carried out in the Ballymun and Santry areas of north Dublin yesterday as part of an ongoing operation by the Garda Drugs Unit.
Seven kilos of cocaine were found during the search of a house in Oldtown Avenue in Santry.
The drugs were sent away to be analysed but it is believed they have a street value of around €515,000.
Christopher Geraghty was arrested at the scene and taken to Ballymun Garda Station were he was charged last night.
He is accused of possessing the drugs and the more serious charge of having them for sale or supply.
Garda Garvan Lennon from Ballymun Garda Station said the 44-year-old made no reply when he was charged.
There was no application for bail today and he has been remanded in custody for a week.
