It's emerged that eight of the 10 men reportedly jailed for the attempted assassination of Pakistani schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai were acquitted.
In April, officials in Pakistan said that 10 Taliban fighters had been found guilty and received 25-year jail terms.
However it's been revealed today by the BBC that only two of the men who stood trial were convicted.
Muneer Ahmed, a spokesman for the Pakistani High Commission in London, said on Friday that a lack of evidence prevented the men's convictions. Ahmed says the court documents were clear and blames media for the confusion, but a public prosecutor had told AP that all 10 were jailed.
The secrecy surrounding the trial, which was held behind closed doors, raised suspicions over its validity at the time.
