A major incident has been declared as emergency services deal with a huge fire at a block of flats in east London.

London fire brigade say 15 engines and 100 firefighters are at the scene, in the Barking area of the city.

The ground floor to the sixth floor of the De Pass Gardens apartment block quickly caught fire with fire crews called to the scene from Barking, Dagenham, East Ham and surrounding fire stations.

The fire is now under control and a spokesperson for London Metropolitan Police say there are no reports of injuries at this stage.
