A major US conference, which is due to take place in Ireland next year, is expected to provide a €9 million boost to the economy.
Over 2,000 delegates will travel to Ireland - for the American insurance company sales force meeting - where they will stay for 7 nights.
Fáilte Ireland says the value of the corporate meetings sector is around €100 million with each delegate worth €1,150 a day to the economy - almost twice that of a leisure visitor.
Paul Mockler, Corporate Incentive Manager with Fáilte Ireland says Dublin and Kerry are set to benefit from the boost:
“We expect the revenue to be worth upwards of 9 million for the Irish economy. We have over 2000 people coming in and on average each delegate is worth €1,150, which is twice that of a leisure visitor.
“It’s going to be 3 nights in Dublin and 4 nights in Killarney, so it’s a very nice regional spread as well.”
