Peter Quinn has failed to show up to court and is not answering his phone having earlier left a message with his solicitor that he’s sick.

He’s quitting after the Government decided to put a new structure in place at the HSE with a new director general post instead of a chief executive.

Speaking after this morning’s meeting, Cathal Magee denied he’d been shoved out as the opposition had claimed.

/>

/> The agency will be established in 2013 – and will be independent of Government.

The blueprint says up until now, child services have been too fragmented – and it’s recommended that Public Health Nursing, speech and language therapy, mental health and psychology services and detention schools should come under the new agency’s control.

Minister Frances Fitzgerald says it will have its own separate budget – and it won’t just be another quango.
