A woman has been taken to hospital after an advertising billboard fell off a wall in southwest London.
Emergency services were called to Mitcham Road in Tooting as commuters made their way to work on Tuesday morning.
Witnesses said the hoarding fell about 20ft from the side of a building.
Siobhan Slattery tweeted: "Thoughts are with the lady currently stuck under a billboard in #TootingBroadway - fell 15/20ft onto her. Awful."
She added that the billboard was across the woman's body, trapping her underneath, but her head was visible and she appeared to be conscious.
"Passers-by were trying to comfort her. Emergency services got there in around 5 minutes," she wrote.
The London Ambulance Service in a statement said: "We were called at 7:33am to reports of an incident on Mellison Road at the junction of Mitcham Road, SW17."
"We sent a number of resources to the scene including a responder by car, two duty station officers and our hazardous area response team."
"We treated a woman reported to be in her 30s for leg and hip injuries. She was taken to St George's Hospital as a priority."
