The Taoiseach Enda Kenny has directly accused Sinn Fein supporters of being "insulting" towards ordinary members of Fine Gael.

Mr Kenny says Sinn Féin supporters and sympathisers were "most insulting" to people attending a Fine Gael meeting in Limerick last night.

Mr Kenny attended the meeting himself, which saw over 200 protestors gather to protest at the introduction of water charges.

In the Dáil this afternoon, he directly urged Gerry Adams to intervene and condemn the sexist comments.
