Minister of State for Social Care Kathleen lynch has confirmed she will run for election once again in the upcoming general election, saying she has “a little more to give.”
The Labour TD has served the Cork North-Central constituency since 1994 and today confirmed to Newstalk Lunchtime that she will “of course” run in the next General Election.
“I am of course – I consider I have done a reasonable job in the circumstances.”
A number of Labour TDs – including former leaders Eamon Gilmore, Pat Rabbitte and Ruairi Quinn – have already announced they will not run in the upcoming election.
“It’s a terrible pity that we won’t have the likes of Pat Rabbitte, Eamon Gilmore and Ruairi Quinn running again, they have made an enormous contribution to Irish life.”
“I’ve a little bit more to give,” Ms Lynch added.
