It's been nearly two years since Hozier released his self-titled debut album, and we've just been gifted his first new song since then.

While the first single from Hozier - the award-winning 'Take Me To Church' - was released in September 2013, and he has continued to release multiple singles from the album since then - right up to single number seven, "Cherry Wine", on Feb 14th of this year - he hasn't actually released any new music since then.

The wait for new material is over now though, with the release of "Better Love", coming from the official soundtrack from the upcoming blockbuster The Legend Of Tarzan.

The music video below intercuts footage of Hozier performing the ballad with new footage from the movie, which is set to be released in Irish cinemas on July 6th.

Having already been nominated for a Grammy, this single could see Hozier up for an Oscar for Best Original Song come next year's Academy Awards, perhaps even following in the footsteps of fellow Irishman Glen Hansard, who won the award back in 2006 for his song "Falling Slowly" from Once.
