As anyone who watched the 'Homeward Bound' movies will know, animals are just as capable of forming friendships as humans. But if you missed out on those childhood classics, or are stone-hearted enough to remain a skeptic, this video won't fail to convince you.

Taken in an animal sanctuary in northern California, it show Mr G, a goat rescued from an abusive owner earlier this year.

Despite being in rude health, Mr G did nothing but lie in a corner of his shed, refusing to eat. Sensing that the problem might be emotional, officials decided to reunite him with Jellybean, a donkey who had been rescued from the same owner.

And it produced quite the turnaround! You'll never see such delight on four legs.
