This is the fourth time someone has been jailed for life for the murder of the dissident republican.

The 35-year-old father of three was chased and shot dead outside the Hunstman Inn in March 2013.

Students waiting for their school bus saw the attack which was described as not ‘a spontaneous act'.

Peter Butterly’s widow described him as an excellent, loving and proud father and said life without him is a living nightmare.

She said she will never forget her son screaming when she told him his daddy was never coming home.

44-year-old Kevin Braney of Glenshane Crescent in Tallaght had pleaded not guilty to murder but was convicted by three judges at the non-jury Special Criminal Court following an 11 week trial.
