Sinn Féin remains the single most popular party in the country, according to a new opinion poll out today.

A Sunday Times / Behaviour and Attitudes poll of 900 voters shows a slight recovery for Fine Gael while Fianna Fáil has slipped slightly.

The poll shows Sinn Féin on 35%, the same as the last poll.

Fine Gael is up three points to 21%, while Fianna Fáil is down one point to 19%.

The Greens are unchanged on 6%, while both Solidarity / People Before Profit and Labour remain at 3%.

Social Democrats are down one point to 1%, while Aontú is also down one to 0%.

Independents are up one point to 11%.

The poll was carried out over 11 days until last Tuesday, and has a margin of error of 3.3%.

Sunday Times political editor Stephen O'Brien says Mary Lou McDonald's party is holding on to a commanding lead.

He explained: "They were up last month to 35%, and they have held that figure in this poll.

"We have Sinn Féin on 35%, Fianna Fáil down one to 19%, and Fine Gael up three to 21%."
