Gardai in Kerry have released a man they were questioning over the double murders of a mother and daughter in Killorglin.
27-year-old Jolanta Lubiene and her 8-year-old daughter Enrika were found dead in their home in the town almost a fortnight ago.
The 26-year-old man is reported to be Lithuanian. He was released without charge. A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
Meanwhile the bodies of Jolanta and her daughter are being prepared for repatriation after they were released to the family.
Last movements
Jolanta Lubiene was last seen on Langford Street, Killorglin at 1.50pm Saturday June 15th walking towards her home at Langford Downs - a 15 minute walk from Killorglin. Her body, and that of her daughter, were discovered at their home the following day, by a family friend.
First arrest
Meanwhile, gardaí are preparing a file for the DPP on a man in his 40s who was arrested and released without charge earlier in the week on suspicion of withholding information. He was questioned by gardaí under section 30 of the Offences Against State Act.
